This is my second computer laptop desk. I bought my orginal one in 2020 when we were shut down due to the pandemic, and I had to teach from home. The first one lasted 5 years, and I was not kind to it. It was adjusted constantly, because I used it both while standing (it sat on a large desk, holding my laptop), and I also used it every day while sitting on the couch. It worked so well that I had to order a new one. The point of breakage was where the plastic and the metal on the leg meets. Regardless, it was worth the price to order again.
Bottom legs are facing the wrong way. Easily tips over. My computer as fallen to the floor repeatedly.
This stand works once you get it adjusted however it's kind of cumbersome to get adjusted where you want the height. It's not as sturdy as I had hoped. Does it work? Yes. Is it what I expected? Not exactly - but it was only $35.
Bought the black model and it lasted 8 years, then I bought the gray model and it only last 1 year. They both broke at different points on the left leg. Luckily I kept the old one for spare parts just in case. It was a pain to take apart but I was able to replace the broken part on the 8yr model with the gray part. Ultimately, what they say is true, nothing is built to last anymore. I'll be keeping the gray stand for parts now since it is hard to find stands that will hold a heavy 17" laptop.
I bought this laptop tray to use while recovering from major knee surgery as I needed to keep my leg elevated while reclining on a couch or bed. It was tricky finding the right angle that I needed, but once I found it, it's working great for me. I'm using the attachable mouse tray, and my mouse doesn't roll off because I have the angle of that just right. I'm able to easily lift the tray with my laptop on it from across my lap to a table next to the couch when I need to get up. I think this could double as a travel standing desk too.
